Mental Health Services for MHUSD During the Closure
Community Solutions
Community Solutions will continue to provide services remotely. We will provide services in the community, at Community Solutions’ sites and/or clients’ homes based on family preference during the school closure. For our PEI Program, we will be running our Strengthening Families Program at Community Solutions. We are currently reaching out to our families to develop plans for services. If there are any additional updates, we will inform you immediately.

Discovery Counseling
Discovery Counseling Center will remain open during school closures to provide services to school clients in need. Discovery Counseling Center has been taking all precautions to stay healthy during this time. Although there have been no cases of the therapist being diagnosed with the Coronavirus, the therapist has been utilizing self-quarantine procedures and has been providing teletherapy to ensure the health of all. School therapists will be asked to reach out to their clients to schedule appointments based upon the risk level of clients. We recommend parents also be proactive and reach out to their child’s assigned therapist if they have not heard from them. Therapy sessions will be offered by assigned therapists at the Discovery Counseling Center or via teletherapy through the use of zoom. Tele-therapy appointments are dependent upon insurance approval and may not be available to all clients. Tele-therapy will only be available for a short time to address this pandemic and may not be available for future appointments. Discovery Counseling Center will be offering anxiety groups via zoom for those families who may feel that it would be helpful. More information will be forwarded once anxiety groups are scheduled. For families who are experiencing distress during this time and in the future, Discovery Counseling Center will be available for emergency services via in-person, online or telephone. Our SLS and PEI staff will continue to serve clients remotely, at RCS, or in community settings during the school closure. We will also continue to run our Strengthening Families Program in groups no larger than 10 on-site here at RCS. We also recognize that things around us are changing frequently, and if we need to adjust, we will reach out and let you know. Discovery Counseling
Discovery Counseling Center permanecerá abierto durante el cierre de las escuelas para brindar servicios a los clientes escolares que lo necesiten. Discovery Counseling Center ha estado tomando todas las precauciones para mantenerse saludable durante este tiempo. Aunque no ha habido casos en que el terapeuta haya sido diagnosticado con el coronavirus, el terapeuta ha estado utilizando procedimientos de cuarentena y ha estado proporcionando teleterapia para garantizar la salud de todos. Se pedirá a los terapeutas escolares que se comuniquen con sus clientes para programar citas en función del nivel de riesgo de los clientes. Recomendamos que los padres también sean proactivos y se comuniquen con el terapeuta asignado de su hijo si no han tenido noticias suyas. Las sesiones de terapia serán ofrecidas por terapeutas asignados en el Discovery Counseling Center o mediante teleterapia mediante el uso del zoom. Las citas de teleterapia dependen de la aprobación del seguro y pueden no estar disponibles para todos los clientes. La teleterapia solo estará disponible por un corto tiempo para abordar esta pandemia y es posible que no esté disponible para futuras citas. Discovery Counseling Center ofrecerá grupos para tratar la ansiedad a través del zoom para aquellas familias que puedan sentir que sería útil. Se enviará más información una vez que se programen los grupos de ansiedad. Para las familias que están sufriendo angustia durante este tiempo y en el futuro, Discovery Counseling Center estará disponible para servicios de emergencia en persona, en línea o por teléfono.
